Help Your Preschooler Learn a New Language

An open house at the French-American School of New York and a Hastings-on-Hudson flea market are among the highlights for fun activities around Scarsdale this weekend.

1. The Bronxville Women's Club transforms itself into a sophisticated coffeehouse every third Friday of the month. On Friday, Nov. 15, the performers include David Ray, a former New York City cab driver, bartender, bouncer, and
actor, whose songs have been described as “cinematic,” and Kelly Flint, the former lead singer for the cult band Dave’s True Story. Admission is $5 and includes coffee, tea and munchies. BYOB is allowed, as are donations for the performers. 8 p.m., Bronxville Women's Club, 135 Midland Avenue, Bronxville.

2. The Scarsdale campus of the French-American School of New York is holding an open house on Saturday at 10 a.m. Attendees can learn about the bilingual curriculum, meet faculty and staff and tour the preschool campus.
