Oktoberfest at Growler's Beer Bistro; Alzheimer's Walk at White Plains High School



FRIDAY:
Athleta Scarsdale, located at 700 Post Rd. Scarsdale,NY, is hosting a free Yoga session with Tao Porchon-Lynch, who at 95 years old is the world's oldest living yoga instructor, Friday at 9:30. Tao is the founder of Westchester Institute of Yoga.   She will inspire you with her wit,wisdom and energy. Limited space, so please call 914-723-0961 to reserve a spot.

SATURDAY: Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains is once again holding its Wheelchair Games Saturday,  at 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Burke's Wheelchair Games gives those with physical impairments an oppurtunity to stay fit, enjoy sports, and compete.

SATURDAY, SUNDAY: Growlers Beer Bistro’s 2nd annual Oktoberfest takes place in Tuckahoe Saturday and Sunday, from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. There will be  authentic German beer and food, beer games, beer truck, corn hole, rock climbing, “bungee” bull riding and kids’ activities including pumpkin decorating, jumping castle, airbrush tattoos and a DJ from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Live music featuring John James & Friends begins at 9pm Saturday night. Growlers Beer Bistro is located at 25 Main St. in  Tuckahoe.

SATURDAY, SUNDAY: The White Plains High School is host the White Plains Columbus Day Festival Saturday, from noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday, from noon to 9 p.m.  The event will feature rides, games, food, Italiana and American music, and more. SUNDAY: The Alzheimer’s Association is inviting Westchester and nearby area residents to unite in a movement to reclaim the future for millions by participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s. White Plains High School will be the site of the Walk on Sunday, September 29 at 9 a.m. Go here to find more information about the event and how to help.
