What To Do This Weekend In And Around Scarsdale

A breast cancer awareness bike ride, a giant tag sale and a classical music concert are among the fun events in and around Scarsdale this weekend. Get out and enjoy the fall weather!


Hoff-Barthelson Music School's Facutly Artist Series

Hoff-Barthelson Music School faculty member Karen Froehlich will perform a concert Friday, Oct. 11 at 8 p.m., as part of the school’s faculty artist series. She will play the French Horn, and she will be joined by fellow HBMS faculty members Donna Elaine, flute; Alan Hollander, oboe; Dorothy Duncan, clarinet; and Guest Artist James Jeter, bassoon. The concert will include works by Jan Pieters Sweelinck, Gabriel Pierne, and Vincent Persichetti. General Admission $18; Seniors $15; Students (18 & under) Free; HBMS students Free. Breast Cancer Awareness Ride with Danny’s Cycles

Join Danny’s Cycles on Saturday, Oct. 12, for the eighth Annual Ride to raise awareness for breast cancer prevention, screening, treatment and to help fund a cure. The event starts at 9 a.m. at Danny’s Cycles, 644 Central Park Ave. in Scarsdale. All skill levels are welcome. The bike shop and Trek Women proudly support The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and 100 percent of the Ride registration fee will go directly to this worthy cause. 20th Annual Giant Tag Sale

Books, furniture, artwork, housewares, jewelry and other items will be up for sale at the annual giant tag sale to benefit the the Westchester County Historical Society. The Tag Sale will take place at the Westchester County Archives and Records Center, 2199 Saw Mill River Road (Route 9A), Elmsford, NY, and will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call the Westchester County Historical Society at (914) 592-4323.
