Formed as a part of the suffragist movement by progressive women joined in 1918 to promote literacy, community,…More philanthropy and action, the Scarsdale Woman's Club now occupies 37 Drake Rd. The Second Empire style building was recently formally enlisted to the National Register of Historic Places.</p> <p>The Clubhouse acts as a community center, hosting approximately 500 events a year including an annual holiday gala while the stay at home mothers and retired professors who are members of the Club uphold traditions like Operation Bookshelf to distributing books worldwide.</p> <p>Divisions of the club include the League of Women Voters, the Associated Visiting Nurse Service and the Scarsdale Foundation.</p> <p>The Club's website is currently under construction.</p>
