In 1908 the first incarnation of the Scarsdale Police Department was formed. The officer's main requirements are…More knowing how to ride a motorcycle and speaking Italian.</p> <p>Now the department boasts of 45 sworn police officers and is helmed by Chief John Brogan, a graduate of the FBI National Academy and Princeton. </p> <p>The department operates on the front lines with state-of-the-art technology, including a computerized dispatch system.</p> <p>The boundaries of the precinct are Bronx River Pkwy, Sprague Rd, Mamaroneck Rd and Post Rd. to Dickel Rd.</p> <p>A major renovation has been underway on the Scarsdale Public Safety Building since June 2009. </p> <p>Public access to the police department is presently at a temporary dispatch trailer located directly across the street from the existing building on the corner of Fenimore Road and Tompkins Road.</p>
