The Scarsdale School Board Nominating Committee is a non-partisan organization that's been operating since 1965.

More <p>The members are elected by the resident voters. Each election unit (the five elementary school districts: Edgewood, Fox Meadow, Greenacres, Heathcote and Quaker Ridge) elects six voting members: two each year to serve staggered three year terms. A total of 30 voting members make up the committee.</p> <p>In addition to the 30 members, there are four non-voting members (Chair and Vice Chair and two appointees from the Town and Village Civic Club and the Confederation of Scarsdale Neighborhood Association Presidents).</p> <p>The committee is responsible for selecting one candidate for each vacant position on the school board.</p> <p>The procedure for electing the School Board Nominating Committee and board candidates is governed by a resolution adopted by the voters of the Scarsdale School district in 1965, with revisions made along the way.</p>
