The Scarsdale Procedure Committee is organized each year to conduct the election of candidates to the Citizens…More Nominating Committee and to occasionally recommend amendments to the Non-Partisan Resolution. The Citizens Nominating Committee selects candidates for Village Mayor, Village Trustees and Village Justice.

The Scarsdale Procedure Committee holds the CNC elections in early November. Two people are elected from each elementary school district. Each elected official serves a three-year term on the CNC.

The Scarsdale School Board Nominating Committee is a non-partisan organization that's been operating since 1965.

The members are elected by the resident voters. Each election unit (the five elementary school districts: Edgewood, Fox Meadow, Greenacres, Heathcote and Quaker Ridge) elects six voting members: two each year to serve staggered three year terms. A total of 30 voting members make up the committee.

In addition to the 30 members, there are four non-voting members (Chair and Vice Chair and two appointees from the Town and Village Civic Club and the Confederation of Scarsdale Neighborhood Association Presidents).

The committee is responsible for selecting one candidate for each vacant position on the school board.

The procedure for electing the School Board Nominating Committee and board candidates is governed by a resolution adopted by the voters of the Scarsdale School district in 1965, with revisions made along the way.
