Reid’s Shaolin Martial Arts (RSMA) has proudly served Cobb County and Metro Atlanta since 1993. At RSMA Martial Arts represents far more than just punching and kicking. We place a tremendous focus on personal development skills and because they have different needs we offer separate programs for kids and adults.

With kids we recognize that different age groups are at different developmental stages and we have specially designed youth programs and lesson plans that reinforce the proper concepts and principals in ways that make the most sense for each age group. In addition, these programs help to get our kids in great physical shape. Our Little Champs program (ages 5-7) focuses on basic martial arts skills such as balance, coordination, punching, kicking, and fundamental self-defense maneuvers. These are combined with appropriate “drills for skills” and “matt chats” designed to help them develop life time skills for success. Our Kidz (ages 8-12) focus on the building blocks of martial arts to establish a strong foundation. They study expanded self-defense techniques, self-defense scenarios and Shaolin Kung Fu. Kids in our Black Belt program in both of our age groups also study weapons training and participate in safe sparring drills that refine skills and reactions for successful self-defense.

Our adult programs provide our students with challenges that are both physical and mental. These challenges include not only physical exercise, but also mental training geared toward self-awareness. Our self-defense training is effective, we have a great sense of community and are part of a network of martial artists that is both national and international. We are concerned about your growth as a person as much as we are concerned about your development as a martial artist.

Reid’s Shaolin Martial Arts (RSMA)was founded in 1993 by its owner and Chief Instructor, 6th Degree Shaolin Master, Michael Reid. Master Reid is from Albany, Georgia and attended the University of Wisconsin on a football scholarship. In 1987, Master Reid graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Computer Science and was drafted in the seventh round by the Atlanta Falcons. He played 6 seasons with the Falcons as a linebacker and was also a speaker with the DEA’s “McGruff Take a Bite out Of Crime” program that encourages kids to get an education and stay in school. Master Reid has utilized background in athletics, education and coaching to create a fun program that focuses on self development and teaches effective self defense.
