Teen Center & Patch Host Night of Rock Tonight!

If your plans for this evening are still in flux, why not contribute a door fee to a great cause and help rescue a wonderful organization that helps out local teens.

It's our first big shebang, and are we thrilled! Scarsdale Patch is pleased to announce we're a co-sponsor of the Scarsdale Teen Center's Adult Night of Rock, happening tonight in White Plains.

And that's where I'm going. In case this is the first you're hearing, the teen center's facing from their budget by the Board of Education, if the proposed budget passes on May 18.

While some would rather the schools cut back on expenditures and extra programming than the teen center, the hearings have been held, and the teen center folks have begun looking to cut costs by relocating, possibly to Supply Field, or else it risks closing down in 2 1/2 years.

The week's been more than hectic for all. Parents got together at Scarsdale High School to figure out how best to handle preparations for the post-prom partying, and high schoolers, meanwhile, busted their brains to wrap up the year with testing days on Friday.

With my own Monday breakdown (fixed, but car's for sale), and now a new car purchase in full swing (wound up, after going to dealerships in Brooklyn, New Rochelle, Greenburgh, Pelham, and White Plains, buying from a private owner in Scarsdale) it's been tough, too. It doesn't help that next week brings a much-anticipated Vermont vacation.

But just the same, we're amped up to boogie down tonight at Vintage Restaurant. Look for me, Jess, and reporter Jeremy Shvetz, among others.

For now, must continue reporting, but enjoy the wonderful weather out and stop by Last Licks for a treat (hope you don't mind waiting in line.)
