Five Things You Need to Know in Scarsdale: Tumbling Registration Open, League of Women Voters Seek High School Students for Conference

A round-up of events, activities and information about town.

1. His art may not be in the Met yet, but it has been on TV -- and so might your child's, if you register him or her for local artist Mike Teator's upcoming drawing class. Teator, who has been featured on the Today Show, will be teaching a cartooning and drawing course through the Scarsdale Recreation Department. Registration is now available for 1st-6th grades on the Department's website.

2. Registration for tumbling for 1st-12th graders is now available on the Recreation Department's website. Sign up or request more information online. 

3. The Board of Trustees will hold a meeting at tonight from 8-8:30 p.m.

4. The League of Women Voters of Scarsdale is seeking high school applicants to participate in the 12th annual Students Inside Albany Conference, which will take place from March 25-28. One chosen student will have all expenses paid and travel to Albany to learn about New York State government and policymaking with youths across the state. Other activities will include touring the Capitol and spending an afternoon shadowing legislators. 5. Tracey Isaacs, an associate in Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage's Scarsdale office, recently sold the Briarcliff country estate of the late Brooke Astor for $6,450,000. The 1927-era stone mansion, Holly Hill, is situated on an 64.5-acre estate in Briarcliff Manor complete with formal English gardens.
