Five Things You Need to Know Today: Mom Comedy, Teen Job Fairs and Catered Dinners at Good-Life Gourmet

Today, learn how to crack a joke with flourish and finesse, find a summer job for your teen and eat a tasty, home-cooked meal without the aid of an oven.

1. Do your jokes crack up the carpool line? Are your annual holiday newsletters the source of hilarity – or eye-rolling – for extended family members? Do your kids wince when you make puns in public? If this is the case, tonight’s “Mom’s Night Out Stand-Up Comedy Night” is for you! Emcee Shaun Eli, a regular contributor to the “Tonight Show’s” opening monologue, will be teaching moms how to spin everyday events into a comic creation… and revealing the secret behind delivering amusing anecdotes with an extra oomph. Tonight’s event will be held at the Bendheim Performing Arts Center at JCC Mid-Westchester on 999 Wilmot Road, and begins at 7 p.m. Call (914) 427-3303 or visit http://www.jccmw.org/bendheim/performingartscenter.htm#gigi to buy tickets. Pricing is $25 per attendee.

2. This Saturday's Job Fair at the Scarsdale Teen Center has been cancelled.  Contact the Teen Center for more information by calling (914) 722-8358 or by emailing admin@scarsdaleteencenter.com .

3. The Greenville Church Summer Camp is now enrolling 3 and 4-year-olds ! Find out how your toddler can escape the cooped-in cabin blues this summer by contacting the church at (914) 723-1266 or emailing greenvillecommunitychurch@gmail.com

This week, Good-Life Gourmet’s offerings include petite filet of beef with slow roasted tomatoes and roasted garlic broccoli rabe, duck leg confit with savory stewed apple and fresh thyme, golden beet salad and chocolate lava cake. Yum.
